Let your brace be your secret with invisible aligners from Invisalign

Clear braces Nottingham, Invisalign braces Nottingham, Removable Braces & Invisible Braces Nottingham

Our virtually invisible aligners from Invisalign are ideal if you would like to straighten your teeth without anyone knowing. The clear aligners are moulded to fit your teeth and can be easily removed for eating and brushing your teeth, making them a popular choice. Over 10 million patients worldwide have been treated with Invisalign

The highly qualified orthodontists at Pure Orthodontics strive for perfection. We don’t believe in quick fix treatments that only straighten the front teeth but carefully consider all of your teeth for the best aesthetic results possible.

Practice principal, Dr Richard Skeggs, is certified to use the Invisalign system so you can be confident that your treatment is carried out by an orthodontic specialist.

As a teacher, people notice my smile and I didn't want to feel self- conscious with braces on my teeth. Invisalign has been very comfortable and easy. No one has noticed that I'm wearing it.

Liz - patient

There are no sharp edges or individual brackets meaning they are comfortable and irritation-free. You will return to us every few weeks to have your treatment progress checked and because the teeth move little by little, you will hardly notice you are wearing the aligners. Average treatment time is 9-12 months.

Several sets of custom-made, subtly different aligners are constructed using a computer. Each set is worn for two weeks before being replaced with the next one. Your aligners are worn for 22 to 23 hours a day. Please be aware that not everyone is suitable for Invisalign. We can discuss alternative treatments with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I wear my Invisalign aligners?

Invisalign aligners should be worn as close to 20-22 hours per day as possible. However, you will need to remove them for eating, drinking anything other than water, contact sports, swimming, brushing and flossing your teeth. As your aligners are custom made to fit your exact gum line you should be able to wear them comfortably for the recommended time each day. You can take them off for special occasions, like a wedding or job interview but just remember to pop them back to get the best results. You will move onto a new aligner each week or two as your smile develops.

Are there any restrictions on what I can eat during treatment?

Invisalign aligners are removed easily before eating, so there are no foods you need to avoid. Unlike fixed braces there are no wires or brackets that can become damaged or trap food. It is important to brush your teeth after each meal to maintain good oral hygiene and avoid your aligners becoming stained from any food residue.

How do I keep my aligners clean?

You should clean your aligners regularly with a toothbrush, toothpaste or liquid soap and cold water. Once or twice a week you may wish to use a product such as ‘Retainer Brite’. The Retainer Brite tablets have been designed to target odour-causing bacteria, plaque and tartare. Dissolve one tablet in a small cup of water and place your aligners in the cleaning fluid for 15 minutes to keep your aligners fresh, bright and odourless.

Will wearing aligners affect my speech?

Invisalign aligners can occasionally affect your speech and some people may experience a slight lisp. This is common when aligners are first fitted. This will soon disappear once your tongue gets used to having the aligners in your mouth.

Do you provide retainers at the end of treatment?

Once you have completed your Invisalign treatment we will provide removable retainers to prevent your teeth moving back to their original position. Removable retainers are similar to Invisalign aligners and worn while you sleep, every night, for around 4-6 months. After this time, you will gradually wear them less frequently but may continue to wear them once or twice a week indefinitely.
